Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend 2021 will mark the second year in which runners of all ages and abilities will take to the streets, paths, trails, and treadmills to participate in Canada’s largest virtual running event! In 2020, participants raised $419,141 for local charities! An incredible feat considering the circumstances in 2020.

Campaign Goal: Raising funds for a variety of local charities.

DGAEPM Perley Vets Fundraiser
In support of: The Perley and Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre
The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre is one of Ontario’s largest and most innovative long-term care homes. Funds through the Foundation help the Perley Rideau achieve its mission: excellence in the health, safety and well-being of seniors and Veterans with a focus on innovation in person-centered and frailty-informed care and service. Located on a 25-acre campus, the Perley Rideau is a unique Seniors Village with 450 long-term care beds, 139 independent-living apartments, and a growing number of clinical, therapeutic, and recreational services available on-site.

Mutchmor Public Spring Book Sale
In support of: Mutchmor Public School
Mutchmor Public hosts students between junior kindergarten and grade 6. All of our students are enrolled in the Early French Immersion program and live in the Glebe neighbourhood of Ottawa. Once our students graduate from Mutchmor, they move to Glashan Public School, nearby.
We have an active community where learning, wellness, engagement, and active lifestyle are important values. Our families are engaged in current social issues and actively support our philanthropy club in their initiatives. Many parents volunteer as part of our School Council, in our classrooms working with students, as well as through the school to help with fundraising activities such as our annual book sale and weekly pizza days.

Second Harvest Hero Virtual Garage Sale
In support of: Second Harvest
Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue charity with a dual mission of environmental protection and hunger relief. We recover nutritious, unsold food from food businesses before it becomes waste and distribute to a broad network of social service organizations.
Timeframe: May 17th to June 18th, 2021
Campaign Goal: Raise $10,000 in funds to support Second Harvest’s mission of “No Waste. No Hunger.” across Canada.
The Shulman & Partners Spring Cleaning Campaign
In support of: Make-A-Wish Foundation
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada works with communities across the country to provide children with life-threatening illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish.

Shak’s World Spring Cleaning Initiative

Shak’s World Community Centre (SWCC) uses basketball, innovation, and mentorship as a bridge to youth employment, education, and training. SWCC’s youth-led urban community development project tackle the underlying issues leading to youth addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. By creating a positive inclusive environment in the Downtown Core.

Spring Clean For Freedom
In support of: Fight4Freedom
Fight4Freedom emerged in January 2012 after a 17-year-old girl came forward and shared her story of sexual exploitation. In 2016, F4F received charitable status. Our efforts to fight trafficking continue to grow in Canada and around the world. Fight4Freedom exists to be an active voice and advocate of justice for individuals exploited by human trafficking in the form of sexual exploitation and to further assist them in finding necessary support systems that will aid in their journey to safety, healing, and moving forward.

Campaign Goal: To support Fight4Freedom’s operational fund in continuing our efforts on outreach, education, aftercare and more!
Spring Cleaning VIBEs
In support of: VIBE Arts
VIBE Arts is a charity with over 20 years of history providing young people with the opportunities, experiences and skills they need to become tomorrow’s creative leaders. VIBE Arts works in communities that face complex problems like violence, gangs, poverty and racism and uses the power of connection, community and creativity to tackle them through school and community arts-based programming.

Campaign Goal: Raise $2,000 to support VIBE Arts’ virtual arts programming to keep children and youth across Ontario creative and connected.
Bruyère’s Virtual Garage Sale
In support of: Bruyère Foundation
Bruyère is a multi-site academic health care organization that is maximizing quality of life and helping people stay and return home. We deliver a wide variety of services in aging and rehabilitation, medically complex, palliative, residential and primary care.

Rebuild Lives Together
In support of: Interval House of Hamilton
Interval House of Hamilton opened its doors in 1986 as a non-profit shelter serving women, 16 years and older, with or without children who were fleeing relationship violence/abuse. We offer an array of counselling and legal advocacy services. Today, in addition, to the emergency shelter program, we now have three community-based programs that provide counselling, peer support, legal advocacy, and system navigation.
Women That Give (WTG) is a registered charity founded in 2016, run by women volunteers who are Entrepreneurs and Professionals, with a mandate: to advance education by providing employability and entrepreneurial skills, training, workshops, and seminars to women in need, including women residing in shelters; to relieve poverty by providing basic necessities of life, including food and clothing, to people in need. The Royal is one of Canada’s foremost mental health care, teaching and research hospitals. We combine our specialized mental health care, advocacy, research, and education to transform the lives of people living with complex and treatment-resistant mental illness. The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health raises funds that help support our work.
